The Wedding Fair Conundrum

Today, my brides maid, Alyssa Slaughter, Will and I went to the San Antonio Wedding fair. I went last year with Lyssa so I had an idea of what to expect. Vendors vying for attention, thousands of brides running around like chickens with their heads cut off, mothers of the brides trying to get in on what they want at the wedding. girls who aren't engaged just wanting to scope out the scene early.

I was prepared. We got their right at opening, stayed to the back, looking and snagging the cards that we liked and moving fast.

The thing about wedding fairs that is good is that you can scope out local vendors and pick up the cards that you like in one centralized location (Not to mention the cute door prizes and free goodies; we got a coupon for a free wine tasting!). Thats what we did. Still there is a great deal of work that has to go into your research after. Pick up the cards that you like but check the websites and reviews on them too.

I do have to say that one of the weird things that keeps popping up is timing. Everyone seems to think it is odd that I am planning a year in advance. Is that so weird? Everyone that I have talked to individually is fine with it and thinks it is perfectly normal.

All and all they are a lot of fun! Much thanks to Alyssa for coming with us and my darling Will for actually wanting to come. Tim Lai: You looked awesome in the fashion show!

Wedding Outline

I have been getting some questions as to the wedding details lately...even though I have just started planning. Still coming from a huge family it makes it difficult to keep everything in check and I don't want everyone to go out and buy plane tickets when we don't even have an exact date yet.

Here are the basics that both Will and I have decided on:

Date: Probably in the spring of 2012. We are waiting for Will to finish school.

Time: So far we are thinking late morning-early afternoon. Texas gets hot and we want to keep it cool and outdoors.

Location: Outdoor, Texas Hill Country. Beautiful locations, and its where the vast amount of people that we know are from.

Size: I know this is going to be the thing that gives the biggest problems. We do not want to guest list to exceed 50 people. Its going to be immediate family and close friends only. We are not big party people so we don't much see the point in having a huge blow out.

Style: Semi-formal and non-religious. As you all know I am a Buddhist and Will is agnostic.

Colours

So after much debate with...myself (Will says he will love anything), I have finally come up with my wedding colours! Yay!

Since we have decided a timeline and what season we would like it to be we have decided to go with Lavender, Green and White. Since these are my favorite colours as well, it seems only fitting!

This is the Official last blog!

SO I have been playing with other blogs (As I am sure many of you know from my facebook). But no matter how much I played, this is the site that I am most formillar with and know how to operate the best.

So I am making this the official wedding site. I will be posting other things besides dates and basics on here. It will include:

-Basic wedding information (Dates, times ect.)
-wedding ideas
-pictures
-appointments
-random

I hope you guys find this blog to be fun and helpful! Here we go!
